This project is a prototype that presents the
functionality of an interactive 3D application to assist doctors
and patients at an orthopedic shoe store. The interface is intended
to be used on a touch screen which would be shown to the patients
to give them interactive representations of all the available shoe
modifications as well as provide information on the various conditions
that cause foot problems.
Information can either be accessed from a series
of buttons on the left and right sides of the screen or by selecting
hot spots on a three dimensional foot in the center of the screen.
The hot spots on the virtual foot model provide an easy
way for patients to identify pain or area of concern
without knowing specific medical terminology. On the
other hand, the menu provides a doctor with an easy way to locate
the particular shoe modification or condition for the patient.
